About

Description

We are a local Vegetarian & Vegan Group which is affiliated to The Vegetarian Society UK and the Vegan Society

The group was first formed in 2001 for vegetarians and vegans to meet other like minded people. We're a friendly informal group who meet on the first Thursday of the month at The Friends Meeting House,Queen's Road, Leicester at 7-30pm

LVV is run by volunteers and we always need more help so please contact us if you'd like to get involved.

We invite speakers, exchange ideas, recipes and help to promote vegetarianism within the Leicestershire area.

If you live in the area and are already a Vegetarian, Vegan or are just interested in learning more about a vegetarian lifestyle then why not pop along to our monthly meeting. You will be made very welcome.

We also have a Diners Club eating out every month at a chosen restaurant - a wonderful social night out and also promoting local eating places to cater for Veggies!

What we do

We are a voluntary and non-profit making organisation any money raised from raffles, stalls etc goes to help Animal Welfare Charities.

We aim to get samples and inform you about new Vegetarian/Vegan products. We provide information for anyone wishing to know more about the vegetarian and vegan diet and lifestyle.

We want to make this world a kinder place. Join us and share our appreciation and love of all animals, whatever their breed or circumstance. All Life Is Precious so LVV says Live And Let Live!

What have we done

Since the group was formed in 2001 we have continued to raise money for charities through raffles, selling veggie food, cakes and sandwiches, information and plant stalls. So far we have donated in excess of £3000.

The founder of the group, Sue Daniels, was awarded the Vegetarian Society Local Contact Veggie Achiever Award in 2011 in recognition for all she does in promoting vegetarianism.
