Sprout and Date Bread

This is a simple but tasty recipe for raw bread.

  • 1 cup dates, chopped
  • 2 cups sprouts, mung bean or lentils work well
  • 2 tablespoonsful coconut oil
  • ¼ cup ground pine kernels or ground nuts, to taste

Blend the sprouts with a blender or food processor until it becomes the consistency of pâté.

Over warm water, melt the coconut oil. Put the chopped dates in a mixing bowl. Add the liquified coconut oil. Blend with a blender or food processor until smooth.

Crush the pine kernels with a pestle and mortar.

Alternatively add small amounts of the sprouts and of the nuts to the date mixture until all ingredients have been added. Mix well.

Shape the mixture. Wrap it in a teatowel or paper. To set, place it in a dry warm place for 24 hours.
