Thinking about changing your diet?
Alex Bogges tells his story about why and how he became vegetarian...

I became vegetarian 15 years ago, not for conscience reasons but for health ones.

I used to race bicycles and during longer reliability trials and the training for them there wasn't time to digest those heavy lumps of protein (red steak etc), I limited my diet to chicken only for a few months and then found that I was fine reducing that too, replacing meats with meat alternatives or vegetables, pulses etc was easy.

I found I had more energy available due to complex carbs and lots of them.

Shortly after my sisters (also now veggie) bought me a T shirt from a vegetarian stall at an anti nazi league concert in London (the Veggie T Bull one, anyone remember this?) and I though I should join.

Since then I have become more interested in the animal welfare side of being vegetarian, but I think we should all remember not to overlook the health benefits too!
