Thinking about changing your diet?
Pepper tells her story about why and how she became vegetarian...

I am a border collie bitch and a vegetarian so thought I would enter this competition and tell you why I am a veggie.

My master and mistress had me from a tiny puppy and kept me on the food that I had been given by my previous family. They really wanted me to eat vegetarian dog food but I wouldn’t.. turned my nose up at it I did…….it wasn’t until they took me to obedience classes and my mistress said I was very fussy with what I ate. The trainer told Sue (my Mistress) that it wasn’t me being fussy it was her…she was told to leave the food down and if I was hungry I would eventually eat it. So Sue got vegetarian dog food for me and it worked. I am now a very healthy ten year old vegetarian doggy who eats complete dog food either Happidog nuggets or Whakky dog from Suma wholefoods, I also have Yarrah dog treats and bones. Ok I might occasionally eat the odd mouse the cats leave behind or the occasional chew my master buys me but most of the time I am veggie. Sue makes me delicious home made biscuit bones which are really good for my teeth or so the vet says. I also have any vegetables that happen to get cooked by Sue which are ok but I would rather leave those for Hamish my other doggy friend who lives with us too.
